Exclamation Virgin Lapper Needs Advice

ok, I just got my premium lapping kit from easypckits.com

i read the instructions given, and sort of understood it, i start off at 400 right? then 600, 800, 1000, 40 micron, 25 micron, 20 micron, 15 micron, then 10 micron?

also, should i go in a circular motion, or up and down motion?

Slow even pressure, in a back and forth motion (don't forget to spin the component 90 degrees every here and again) and let the weight of the item do the work (for the most part). Good luck.

You'll know when you've spent enough time, you'll be able to see that all is worn evenly. As far as the temp decrease, there are soooo many other variables (including the cpu and I don't just mean whether its an e6600 or e6700). good luck.

Your processor will take longer than your cooler (if you do this correctly, the cooler weighs much more - this is not to say that you should apply no pressure to the task but that the item should to the most work - you will get a feel for it as you go along just don't get overconfident).

Sorry, I honestly don't remember times specifically or confidently enough to give you an accurate idea but don't worry, your concern is unwarranted, this isn't like growing sheep in a test tube or anything.
