You have to do it correctly in order to succeed. Lapping should not be rushed and it isn't for the weak-minded. Also, when fastening it on your motherboard, you should turn the screws a quarter turn and alternate screwing in a diagonal pattern. This prevents the heads of the screws from breaking and enables the whole base of the heatsink to attain maximum contact with the CPU.

I tighten two diagonal screws at once....haven't ever had them break...and believe me, I used to take my Tuniq off at least once a week lol.

That way also works well, I change my heatsinks quite often, so I'm used to lapping, securing and taking care of them.

Yup, first i make sure my Tuniq is actually on where all 4 screws are in the holes...i tighten one at a time about 2 turns...then i take 2 screws that are diagonal from each other and turn them about 2 full turns, then switch to the other 2 diagonal screws and do the same...till they won't screw in any further, lol.

Yeah, lol. Same with putting an electric sander to the base of your heatsink.

You tighten the screws until they won't budge any more?!?

Until you can't see the threads of the screws from the top of the motherboard.
