What's a safe temperature to have the CPU working at when over clocked?

about 50's i wouldnt want to reach 60 though. This is on load though. Try to keep it under 60 and around the low 50's, if you reach 55, then I'd say you upgrade your cooling or underclock.

60c is considered safe for all dual core Core 2 CPUs.

70c is considered safe for Quad Core Core 2 CPUs.

Isn't it 60C for the older steppings and 70C for the new G0? I was pretty sure B3 Q6600's still were only 60C

whoa chill out, 70 is murder, I would not want to even think 70 even for quad's or any processor for that matter unless I have some gigantic basketballs, not everyones ballsie like you legend dude.

SLACR and SLACQ steppings have thermal threshold of 71c. SL9UM is still 62.2c.
