Default removing a zalman 9500AM2

I need to remove my zalman to apply the correct amount of thermal paste, but I am having a very difficult time removing it... any suggestions?

its not that hard... press that part of the clipping thing.. downward.. and it should come off afther that

ive got it down so many times, it just wont come off


once i get it down, i cant get it over that little pin its resting on.

U need to unscrew the 2 screws on the retention bracket. Then remove the retention bracket and be careful as the thermal grease may have stuck the cpu to the 9500.

when you press it down just push it forward.. so the anchor thing would actualy be un-hooked ... try it out with patience.. dont be afraid go on

Just push down, and toards the processor. The clip if fairly weak and doesnt take much effort.. pushing towards the proc will have the clip free of the bracket. Let go, and its free. (Make sure you are pressing the correct side of the clip...)

EDIT: Oh... That is correct! Water can work for the HSF if you dont have any alcohol..
