Default Lapping worth the work??

Here are some factors:
RoomTemperature: 23C
FanSpeed: CPU 2500RPM
Case 2500RPM
Idle:36C
Max Load: 51C average (100%)
53C Peak
Today the temperature is cool, Where I can run Othos and play games utilize two core (100% load) with no problem... but on a hot day, running the CPU on 100% will be 55C over and the system will to freeze or reboot. Exceptions are when room temperature </= 25C

My question is, is lapping both the CPU and the Heatsink worth the sweat?? Generally, what result will I get from Lapping both??

Definitely. I lapped my AC Freezer for my AMD rig. I went from 38 idle and 50 load to 33 idle and 45 load. WELL Worth it.

I only saw a small improvement from lapping my Infinity, I would not do it again. But, that was pretty good to start, I have read of big gains with an Ultra 120 Extreme, because some of them come very concave. So you see a bigger improvement. But, I paid to get my Ultra 120 Extreme done, I hated doing my Infinity. I normally love working on my PC, but I will not spend the hours it takes to lap something well again.

Your computer restarts just because of 55*C? That should be fine for the Pentium D... that's your "core" temp, right?

I think your overclock is not stable enough. Try increasing your CPU voltage, and then test it with Orthos for 24 hrs.

I'm not sure if its the Core temp, but I use speed fan. Othos for 6hrs no problem. The thing makes my system to act wrong is the magic 56C. runing at 55C is ok, But once it hits 56C for like 30s, the system freeze and restart. I belive my system runs fine (with proper cooling), but the heat is not going away easy, when you consider puting 1.55V through a 805...
