Hey all,
__________________I'm new to the forums so any help would be appreciated. I just put together a new system with an e6850. My question is that I have an Antec 900 case with my Zalman 9700 pointed towards the 200mm exhaust fan at top. It runs the CPU insanely cool (we're talking 20's idle) but when I power up or shut down the blades hit the copper fins. When the computer is running, the centrifugal force allows the blades of the fan not to hit the fins. It's annoying but I was wondering if it would hurt the heatsink if I kept it like this. When I turn it sideways the fan doesn't hit the blades but the temps aren't as low. Any advice?

bend the bracket that holds the fan slightly in the opposite direction away from the copper.just a little bit though, so as to not damage the bracket

That didn't even cross my mind. I was so busy with the placement of the stupid thing I didn't even think to bend the pieces around. Besides, I'd rather fiddle around with a $55 dollar piece than ruin a $290 processor by constantly changing the heatsink around.
