I ziptied 2 120mm fans on to my CPU cooler (60 and 70 ish CFM). My temps went UP, and I switched them around and the same thing happened. I was getting 59C loads, but now that I replaced the stock fan, I am getting 56C max loads... What am I doing wrong?
(Blue LED fan is lesser CFM, but I tried both ways, so it really doesn't matter) ![]() ![]()

I need more bullets!

Make sure they are both pointed in the same direction.
Preferably, the rear.

I provide....LEVERAGE!

Too many fans will disrupt and hamper your airflow (imbalance of CFM) rather than improve it. When that happens, your temps will rise.

You're probably messing up the airflow. I would put only the higher CFM fan on the cooler.

So, is it even worth it to put them on there? (Or even one?) I don't really know how I would mod just one on.. (and if it would do much)
What do you guys think? Should I just stick with stock fan? EDIT: Do you think 56C load is alot on my vcore? It seems really high. My ambients are around 23-24C. I just replace this cooler, before my previous Freezer broke a pin, so I put this one on and I am getting higher temps. The heatsink/CPU don't really compliment each other like they used too, and I don't want to lap the IHS, if I were going to lap anything it would be the HSF.

Is there a way to take off the stock fan and add a high cfm fan onto it?

![]() I don't really know how I would do that, though. EDIT: Look at this pic. I could run a ziptie from one fan hole, around the heatpipes through the fins, then back thru another fan hole and then lock it with another ziptie? The only problem with that is the fan is bigger than the HSF. I might expirement tommorow, see what I come up with. Would I put the higher or lower CFM one on there?

I still have the old cooler with the pin broken, Velocity Micro let me keep it.
Anything I can do with it? Since the other one gave me lower temps, I think it complimented my CPU better. (Not saying it is flatter, just lower temps). Is it even possible to replace the broken pin somehow? Or could I switch the mounting hardware? Any more ideas for this or the post above me?

oh i've got a kick a$$ idea.
use the fan guard and get the high CFM fan. use the screw-holes to use as ziptie lock stoppers...if that makes any sense...So essentially..you'll be using the zip ties as you would on the other fan, but instead, you use the holes on the fan guard to keep the front fan on.. but YES the grills on the fan guard might restrict airflow..but u can't win em all... and if the ends of the ziptie just slip through the screw-holes...you could just get a big wad of hot glue and make it bigger....
