Default What air cooler is on your Q6600?

I just ordered a G0 SLACR Q6600 and I'm going to try my current Zalman in my sig rig, but I'm wondering who has this cooler and how is it. I may buy a Tuniq tower or other if need be.....

How about some temps too, and which application, OS, etc.

Cognoscenti has a quad and that cooler. You can see what I use, it works well.

I have one and to be honest it sucks balls on Quads (regardless of revision), it's perfect for Duo's though. I idle in the low 40's celcius @ 3Ghz on my B3 and it's been reseated several times with numourous alterations in AS5 application. No difference.

If i were you get yourself a Ultra 120 Extreme or maybe that new IFX-14.

Hey good to know man. I'll be sure to share my findings with you on my cooler, and I'll buy accordingly.
Man that IFX-14 is one mean looking CPU cooler.....

Wow.....it has a freaking backside cooler. I thought that solution was only for graphics card coolers.

I'm not really sure how that backside cooler is supposed to do much considering that it looks like it relies on air flow toward the PSU.....but maybe, just maybe.

Coggy has the IFX-14, but unfortunately she has never posted temp details. I was going to get one but i wanted feedback from her 1st. Anyway, i may just go water and done with it. At least when the Yorkfield arrives i won't have to worry about temps anymore.

I've got a B3 and a 9700 LED. My temps now are 49,44,43,49 (cores 0/1/2/3), I'm idling. But It's really hot in here, ambient temps are around 30C. I have a feeling it's my case, because when I open the front cover, I see a 2C drop. When I take the door off, I see another 2C drop. When I get my construction-site fan (6500CFM) and point it at the front, temps go down another 5C. On a test bench I see similar results. On days where it's not over 35C outside (damn you California) with fans on the test bench (nothing more than a case with good airflow) I can idle at 30C and peak load at 70C, which is bad for a b3 I know . When our Central Air was working my ambient was around 22C and load would max out at around 60C.

Current case is a Tsunami Dream, but my Stacker 832 gets here tomorrow.

Actually those are decent temps if your ambient is in fact 30C. My E6600 idles around 35 -36 with my apartment door open (free AC FTW) and it's 10C outside (according to the VIsta sidebar that I just opened)

BTW if you think that it's hot in California then come to Arkansas in August! It's REALLY hot here man!
