I might be getting the Ultra 120-Extreme pretty soon, and wanted to know what kind of fans are the best. I have 2 FM123's hooked up, but I didn't realize how loud they would be, so they are running at about half speed (Max is 110CFM). I would like some good fans that aren't too high to CFM to mess up my airflow, I don't know what I would need. Maybe 60CFM or 70? (I want 2) I want them fairly quiet also.
I can take off my 123's and put them onto the cooler and put different fans on there if I needed too. I also have some other fans sitting around that *might* be good. 1. CFM-72 dBa-34.4 1. Blue LED Fan 56.3 CFM 24.7 dBA What do you guys suggest? EDIT: I am looking for a fan/light controller, if anybody has some good ones to recommend, let me know.

the medium yate loons pretty quite, and you can just cut off the 4pin molex and use the 3 pin. or the scythe SFF21F are awesome 70cfm's and are pretty quite as well.
yate loons are way cheaper though http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa1.html 7$ scythe 14$ http://www.petrastechshop.com/12scsfscafan1.html i'd dare say the yate loons are just as quite, and i cut off the 4 pin my self, and covered the wire with electrical tape, works excellent for price!

Nidec seems ok, mine is similar to their model. Those things are WAY too loud though, I am not looking for Deltas here, but just a strong fan that relatively quiet.
Price is not THAT high of a priority (probably getting them for Christmas so ). Maybe 20 bucks max? Those Scythe fans look really good, I'll consider those.

Get yourself some silent eagles and a fan controller. That way you can have good airflow without your pc sounding like a jetfighter.

On a side note, for all these new fans, I want to get a fan controller. I also have cathodes that I would like to hook up to it. It can be 5.25 or 3.5, doesn't matter. I would prefer a fan/light combo controller, it has to handle dual 12 inch cathodes, a future 4 inch cathode, two FM123's and two more fans which I haven't decided on yet. My other option is to get a fan controller and a light controller separately. Whatever is fine, just not TOO expensive.

As long as you have the front fans as intakes and the rears as exhaust, I don't see how they could mess up your airflow. You want fans that get down to 19dBA or lower, but that can be fixed with a fan controller. I like my Hipers, but Yateloons are suppossed to be the best.

those thunderblades are not 21dBa. i bought one and it was more like 30-35dBa. i had to return it because it was so much louder than my antec tri-cool fans. i was looking for a quiet fan with high airflow and turned to the thunderblades but i WOULD NOT recommend them if you want quiet fans. after testing the TT Thunderblade it made me realize how quiet the antec tri-cool fans really are. even at medium setting these fans are still very quiet, and at low they are barely audible. i turn them up to high when gaming but it doesnt bother me when my speakers are loud or headphones are on. other fans that are quiet is the silverstone fm121, silenx, scythe, and aerocool. but most of these are around $15-20 making them too expensive for most people. here is a list of some quiet fans with a decent cfm rating: Link Link2 Link3
