I tied down an old 40-50mm fan I had that came off an old heatsink for an AMD CPU to my NB heatsink on my Asus P5N32-E SLI MB. The fan runs at about 4800~5000RPM and it cooled my motherboard about 6ºC and CPU about 10ºC while under a load. I didn't think such a simple modification could have such great results. I recommend anyone to do this to their P5N32-E SLI MB.

I have never used passive cooling on any of my motherboard northbridge chips, ever. Active cooling (on anything) helps a ton.
