Ouch, do the V Droop mod with a pencil. I had v droop like that but now the droop is .01 if that.

That v-droop is nothing compared to how bad mine is. I set 1.475v in bios, running prime blend stress test, the voltage drops to 1.36v according to cpu-z and speedfan. Now thats pretty bad v-droop

[QUOTE=arjo_reich;3438412]#1 - what is total airflow like?
#2 - when was the thermal compound applied? has it reached it's break-in period?

---

Total airflow is pretty good. 2 scythe sflex 1200rpm fans as top exhaust, coolmaster 1200rpm fan as bottom intake, scythe slipstream 1900rpm fan as front instake, another slipstream as rear exhaust. only think that might help a bit would be putting another fan in the drive bays as an intake.

The thermal compound was applied on Wednesday, Feb 20th, 2008. Computer has been on 24 hours a day since and has been at load for 12 hours or so of that time. It defintely has not been broken in yet.

The scythe didn't have a boss, but I did have to put a slight bend on the bracket to get a better grip on the fan. Posted Pictures.

Before on left, After on right. Nothing crazy, but it holds much better.

My TRUE had a line straight across the center of the plate that was convex...caused that line to scratch the cpu.

I ended up taking my dremel and buffing it out very carefully. after the as5 cured...it dropped my temps about 5c. I am seriously considering doing a full lapp on the proc and sink to see if I can erk any more contact out of it... but with the temps I am running now, i think i will wait until summer.

I run boinc 24/7(unless playing a game) and my max temps are 52c (ambient 23c) Prime95 small raises that to around 62c so I dont know if lapping will improve that much. I think I'll first put a higher cfm fan on the true..the one on it now is only 1200rpm/65cfm. I see lots of people doing a push/pull with 100+cfm fans...not sure if I want it to be that loud.

I'm lapping my TRUE this morning. I wanted to install first before lapping to compare my temps to after I lap but seeing how convex the base was I decided to lap now.

Few drops of water.

I'm sanding in a figure 8. I sometimes install fiber optic at work and we buff the ends in a figure 8 pattern. It works better than going in circles or back and forth.
My table is very flat, I checked.
