I started seperate thread on this Zalman 9500 I was excited and it looked like I had another chioce besides the thermalright XP-90c which required a mainboard removal and a bracket to fit my LGA775 Socket T plusan added expence in a top end fan. I was not looking forwarf to it at all.... then it struck me like a bullet? Water Cooling? if I was going to go to all that trouble to drop maybe 6-10c if lucky then why not double my budget and go all the way. So I spent the day designing a water cooling settup and I am stocked ....Look out boys My rig is gonna fly and run to its extreme potential not limited by next months 1-2c temp drop from an over priced air cooling device. I wouldrecommend considering looking into water cooling its not that complicated at all and much safer than I ever thought? Overclocking will be up to me and my hardware adjustments not where my cooling unit topped out. Dont get agrivated at me cause I know about air im just jazz'd that I made a leap forward with this...........

Well $75~ is what some people can afford and for someone like me, I probably will stick with air cooling as I am almost getting some performance similar to some kits (not custom ones mind you). Also with some others, they may have a case that was designed for air cooling such as myself and already have a layout for such a setup.

But good for you that u decided to jump into water cooling, I wish I had that budget .

Still though, it is a very sexy cooler and I may even get it even though I just got a Zalman 7000cu.

Will it make a diff whether it's mounted sideways or will it need to be upright?

Heatpipes rely on capillary action, not gravity, or do I have that wrong?

I believe they do not rely on gravity due to the sideway mounting of the motherboard. Anyways if anything the cooler should be mounted so the exaust is towards the ram and intake is from the rear. You wouldn't want your cooler to suck in the nice hot air from your memory would you?
