Default Zalman 9700 problem

Ive had this cooler for about 4 months now and never really noticed it before but when i turn the knob on the fan control to the max, the fan only goes up to 2335rpms (Asus PC Probe). In the specs it says that its supposed to max out at 2800 +- 10%. Anybody got a solution to this?

Are your Zalmans hot to the touch after being under 100% load for a while, because mine isn't, wondering if I should reseat (max temps I get is around 60C, but I heard E8400 don't always report correct temps). Thanks.

i havent really touched my cooler after its been under a load for a while but after about an hour of gaming its pretty warm to the touch (heat pipes). My rig runs pretty got in general since i stuffed a bunch of hardware into a tiny midtower. Cant wait for the armor+ esa to come out.
