Actually, the title is a bit misleading, but check it out.
I've had some crazy temps recently, so I reseated my lapped TRUE over my lapped CPU, and used OCZ freeze. I got my idle down to 44C, which is too hot for me. I clocked at stock, and I was still getting 44C. Huh? My ambient is 26C, but still. So I changed my fan flow, doing intake from the rear and using the panaflor to push to the front, the theory being my Lian-Li's 2 80mm case fans are terrible at exhaust. After a grueling hour (I HATE the TRUE fan clips) I got my idle down to 43C. So glad that was worth it. NOW, I just built a new rig for my advisor using a Tuniq Tower on an unlapped q6600 in an Antec 900 gamer's case. He idles stock at 28C. Then I overclocked him to 3.6, and he idled at 32C. I have these two machines here, and this guy doesn't care what he gets. I can have my pick of the litter so to speak, and pass on my Lian-Li tower for the antec 900, which I think I'm going to do. I also plan on keeping my TRUE, but do you think his unlapped chip is worth snagging? I can't tell if it's the case, the TRUE, or the lap jobs that might be holding me back... 13C just seems too ridiculous not to pass up though.

Your lapping may have been uneven.

That's my theory, though I still think I want to switch to the 900.

The thing about the Lian-Li is that it cannot do intake or exhaust for my TRUE and panaflow. It would be a superior case IF it had a 120mm exhaust rather than 2 80mm in a column. With the Antec, I can point my TRUE and panaflow up and out the huge bazooka vent on top of the antec 900. The other thing about the Antec is it has better 120mm fan placement for my SLI cards, in addition to a side fan, which the Lian-Li doesn't have. The Lian-Li is about five years old now, and just had a different setup in mind from what I do today.

the 900 is a nice affordable case. I'd pick a Lian Li over it but if you want something different go for it.

See yeah, you guys all have Lian-Lis with 120mm exhaust. I'd take your over the 900 too, but this 900 here for free is better than a Lian-Li PC-75b.
Gah! Options!

I'd take the case with the stuff thats most important and cant be changed or modified, then I'd get to modding to add the stuff thats missing/lacking. I know its not always as cut-and-dry as that, but, you know.
