If you already have it with you and are in my situation, do this. Clean off the ram heatsinks AMAZINGLY with a paper towel, and then use a clean eraser on the ram heatsinks to rub off the rest of the residue. Then clean again with a paper towel. THEN you can safely apply the heatsinks and if very clean they should stick super dandy.

But i think it's best if you go out and get something like thermal tape or adhesive.

vmod eh... I need to research it alot first but i do plan on doing it eventually.

BTW the Accelero works better on load.. You see the real performance of it ON load because it's a passive cooler.
Hmmm, you're now making me think I should of bought some thermal tape for these ramsinks, or some better ramsinks. Nevertheless ill let you know how they stick. I also purchased a 120mm fan Im going to be zip tieing to this cooler, so hopefully that really makes it shine

It does...

I canceled my order for the optional turbo modules once i came to my senses...

I have freaking a million case fans... why do i need to buy $13 cheap plastic? pfft!

vwgti.. You can use superglue if you need to.. A small small small dab on each corner of the ram heatsinks and then just put them on and they will perform well...

But if you clean them off really nice like i just said... you should have no problems... I was an idiot, and i hope people learn from my mistake lol.

Drizzt5: I plan on being able to remove the ramsinks if I need to rma again. I bought my xfx 8800gt in February and Im now on my 5th due to artifacting and screeching cards I bought/received through rma.

I'm considering getting one of these, is there a good place to buy them for cheaper than 20?
Also, is it worth it to buy the fans made for the Accelero S1 and S2?

Previously with my stock cooler, temps went up to around 80C in 3dmark06 when i ran it at 720/1020...

If i ran it higher it would get artifacts and crash....

You want to talk about improvement and price/performance? The Accelero is defiantly up there and worth the $25!

I tried to take the screenshot as quick as possible.. temps did not go over 62C while running at 730/1020

More later with my new case and with a fan attached to the accelero.

@ xHassassin: your going to have to deal with $25 before shipping... 25 is the lowest you will find it I think. Also the turbo modules are not worth it, you can just take any old case fan and attach it and it will work just as good and save you some dough.

Eh, for the 3dmark06 advanced, do you have to pay for it?
Because it won't give me the advanced ver if I don't register, and it says registering costs money, which I don't want to spend.

Yep, it's a good cooler, though I removed the original paste and replaced it with as5.
