Guys, I thought as5 wasn't adhesive, so it wouldn't help keeping the sinks on anyways right?

I didn't think it was an adhesive either, but ti's doing a fine job at the moment.

Oh sweet. This cooler will work with my 8500GT. Might just have to pick up one of these.

I want to add something to this thread if anyone ever comes across it and uses it.

The accelero is a great cooler for a lot of nvidia + ATI cards, but the biggest problem that I had with it was the ram sinks. This is a problem with most aftermarket coolers that have the sticky thin thermal tape on the ram sinks.

The best thing you can do if you decide to get this cooler, or ANY aftermarket air cooler is to buy either thermal tape, or some thermal adhesive.

I got 2x zalman air coolers that came with ram sinks for my 4850's and I tried cleaning the ram modules off with alcohol and then making sure the surfaces were tot tally clean and all the things you are supposed to do, and they still fell off. Thankfully I thought ahead because of my experience with the accelero and ordered a tube of thermal adhesive. The downside to the thermal adhesive is it is quite permanent and I won't be getting the ram sinks off probably. But IDK because I haven't tried. But you can always buy some thermal tape if this is a concern.

Short explanation: Make sure you either buy thermal tape or thermal adhesive if you get an after market air cooler with ram sinks because they will probably end up falling off.

i have heard of that problem too, but i have this cooler installed on my gts 512 and all of the ramsinks worked perfectly. I think it is because people dont clean the chips with enough alcohol before they try to apply the new ramsinks.

Accelero temps stay under 50c load

With the state of the economy, I don't think Obama can get much much of an overclock. (At least, not quickly) He's on stock cooling.

It is a great cooler, although a little big if you want to do sli/crossfire, which is the reason I replaced mine with the Zalman model.

But I swear to you, I honestly tried cleaning my chips this time as carefully and as much as possible AND applied pressure for about 2 min's on each sink which is supposed to help, and within a few hours I heard *CLINK* and I looked and saw that a few of the sinks had fallen off.

Maybe it works for some, but I still advise people to buy thermal tape or thermal adhesive as a backup plan. Tx-1 or AS5 is a temporary fix.
