Default Sunbeam Rheobus Fan Controller, LED issue.

Well, in the hopes to manage my computer's noise level (along with making the front of my case look a little less boring), I bought a Sunbeam Rheobus 4 channel Fan/Neon control panel (5.25").

Excellent controller, everything connected fine, I needed one more connector than they provided, so I instead ran the fourth channel to my neon kit, everything spun up/turned on, power seamlessly slides, nothing caught on fire, etc.

Well, it would be excellent, if it werent for the LED indicator lights. Why? THEY ARE TOO DAMN BRIGHT! Im typing this now with 4 vivid blue dots right in front of my vision and they arent seeming to go away any time soon...

Can anyone point me in the right direction to tone those puppies down? Either specific directions or a tutorial link will work just fine.

Thanks in advance, and a warning to those getting Sunbeam Rheobus's, DO NOT STARE DIRECTLY AT THEM, they will melt your eyes out of their sockets! (Well, maybe not, but you get what I mean...)

I have the same one, i looked forever and couldnt find a thing. I found one that makes low off and high red... currently looking for that.

What i did however was took some sandpaper and scuffed up the leds a little and then took black nail polish (3 coats) and they are now in the "soothing" category rather than the initial "damn bloody bright" one.

Will try and find the link to the mod if your interested.

As long as it doesnt require buying a kit, sure, point me to it.

I wonder if I can steal some of my sister's black nail polish without her noticing :P

Well i cant find it, it used to be a review on neweggs website but its gone now. I think its something you didnt want to do anyway. It had to do with splicing the yellow (speed) wire to trick it.

But if you cant find anything the nail polish thing does work if you cant find a better solution.

Hmm, I have some plastic enamel paint from long ago, if any of it's still good, I could probably add a light coating of that to soften it up...

The led's are socketed, 3mm bi-color (or 5mm?) I found some over a jab-tech

Which ones are they and has anyone replaced them?

Thanks
