Hey all, noob here.
__________________First all, thank you for even reading this post. I am in dire need to update my system, (Just look at it! )I'm going to be upgrading, and also leaving AMD behind... After so many faitful years, I just have to admit that AMD isn't moving in the direction I am and that I need to move on. ![]() (Sorry about the bad humor) Anyway, here is what I'm looking at upgrading to: CPU: Intel Q6600 (Link) Mobo: EVGA 750i FTW (Link) RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000 (Link) Ok so the question is, I see how well the Q6600 can over clock, so I'm wanting a nice CPU cooler for my build. And I know everyone loves the TRUE, but here is my question: (And no its not "Will it fit on my motherboard?") Because I have the CM Stacker 823, with seven 120 mm fans in it, four of which are installed to blow inside the case from the side pannel, should I get a tower CPU cooler or a blow-down cooler such as the SI-128 SE? While I'm going for power and cool, I still want stable. I don't care if my system is loud, I'll just turn up my speakers. So, again what sort of CPU cooler is better when you have four 120mm fans blowing into the case on the side pannel? A tower or a blow-down cooler? If the answer is a tower, then I'm looking to get the OCZ Vendetta 2 if not the TRUE. If the answer is a blow-down cooler, then it will most likey be the SI-128 SE or the Enzotech Extreme-X Well, again thank you for your time and for even reading this post.

The TRUE fits. I had the stacker 830 and the TRUE together. You need to take the top left corner fan out of the door rack though.

Right on. Its great that it fits, just are all other parts on the mobo kept cool or does the tower make some sort of dead zone where the air doesn't move?
__________________Was also looking at the Tuniq Tower 120, and saw the it fits into the case as well Thank you for the quick response.

Given the airflow in the case, I'd go with the SI-128 SE myself (I actually did, for that matter), since the SI-128 SE will keep your CPU nearly as cool as the Ultra 120 Extreme, but will do an infinitely better job of cooling the surrounding components on your mainboard as well. And it's not like you'll be disrupting airflow anyway, since a fully loaded Stacker 830/832 doesn't have any real airflow path to speak of, only brute airflow everywhere.

I like the SI-128 SE because of the way it cools the mobo as well. Also, I think it looks nicer then the TRUE.
__________________Was also looking at the Tuniq Tower 120. It also looks nice. I know, looks aren't everything and with this case its not like I can see into the case. RayvinAzn, do you have a picture of your CM Stacker with the SI-128 SE in it?

That picture is a bit old however. I've since replaced the IDE optical drive with a SATA burner, added a bunch of fans and a fan controller, replaced the standard blanking plates with vented ones, swapped the Noctua fan on the CPU for a Panaflo H1, and done some more work on the cabling. Still, it's a pretty good general idea of how big the heatsink really is.

wow it doesn't stick as far up as i thought it did. Thank you for the pic.
__________________I think I'm sold on the SI-128 SE. That is unless someone out there knows some really important reason why I shouldn't get it. (Ex, "Not compatible with the EVGA 750i FTW" or something) Thanks again.

Hey thanks again RayvinAzn. I can tell now it is a bit bigger then i thought. Thank you for the pic.
__________________As for my upgrade, I'm not sure as to what motherboard to get. Tigerdirect has a deal for the EVGA 680i A1 and a q6600 OME. It may be out of my price range though to get the combo, (Link) A HSF and some new RAM (I'm still back in DDR 1 dangit.) Anyway, If I stay with the FTW, can anyone point me into the direction of some good, reasonable priced RAM. I'm looking to get 4gigs. Thank you all for the help.
