If I had the same ambient temperatures as you do, it's likely that I can get comparable temperatures as yours. As things are, in the oven that is my bedroom, my rise over ambient temps at full load is around 23 degrees C.

At the end of the day, rise over ambient temps is really where all temp discussions make sense. And the lower the ambients, the less the temp will rise (the opposite, of course, is true).

I think what he meant was that water is stable and air will explode if my ambients go up 1C lol. I never thought my ambients were considered low, though. Can't wait for winter

The water-guys are making me want to take out the big guns: the window. But heating is expensive and it would prove nothing.

Sure, I can get you a screenie of like 5mins. Hopefully that will quench (is that how you spell it?) your hunger for now. I feel like playing some TF-2 and I've got some school work to do.

Oh well. Started the workthreads right...now.

EDIT: nearly 15 mins in now, cores are hovering around:

C1: 46-47-48
C2: 45-46-47
C3: 42-43-44-45
C4: 43-44-45-46

Bold are temps right now

Will get a longer run later, I expect maybe 2-3-4C higher after a few hours. TF2 for now! w00t!

Nice work but you should have asked my self or littlratt (or joemaniaci) regarding aftermarket cooling on the 780i boards. I'm the thread originator for the board and ratt and joe have a great deal of knowledge as well.

Tell me as soon as you figure out how to get custom mountings for the HR-05, or how to mod a cheap chipset waterblock with the HR-05 on it.

This was a 10-second overclock so I managed to get *just* 3.55ghz.

Edit: Temps were hovering around there quickly, anywhere from 44 to 48.
I opened a new HWmonitor to show better how it fluctuates, but I didn't want to wait too long.

Thermalright is making a nb air cooling block for the 780i and 790i boards.

It is due for release in july or august.

Nice job. Those are great temps.

BTW don't bash all the water coolers. I have seen plenty of them tell people to get the TRUE over a cheap set-up as they know it works better than the BigWater coolers.
