Check out my sig, I could not fit a V2 so just got the V, tossed the 92mm fan that came with and mounted a 120mmx38mm Ultra Kaze 2000 and could not be happier with my temps (V2 like with the fan now). Get the V2 or the V depending on what will fit your case and don't look back!

I see there are several fellow E6420 owners here. I'm waiting for a phone call that will mean my Vendetta 2 is in and ready for pickup today. As soon as I get it swapped out I'll update my specs.
One thing Qbert -- why are you at only 3.0? With 800MHz ram, you'd get best performance at FSB = 400 MHz. Then your FSB:RAM would be 1:1. Also, the Intel stock cooler is fine for 3.2GHz on a E6420. Rob

Well, I know what you mean, Weirdo, but since it's got OCZ stamped on the top I'll just stick to that branding. In a way, it's a ripped off design three times over. On top of that, the cooler I had before, a PC Cooling, was a copy of the same design only with four of the cheaper and more available heat pipes. However, for 175 RMB (~$30US) it's a bargain. Just to put it in perspective, here the OCZ Vendetta2 is about 450 RMB (nearly $60!) and the OCZ XTC ram fan about 220 RMB ($35).

I also have an e6750, and I find that the Vendetta does a great job on it - easily 6-8 C. degrees below stock cooler. Keeps my e6750@3.2 very cool, Prime95 load ~50-55 C. I got the Vendetta 2 when I got a q6600, and that works great too. Seems like the Vendetta 2 is especially good for quads; the original Vendetta is a great, relatively inexpensive cooler that may be more for dual-cores than quads...but that works for you.

I picked up my Vendetta(V1) off TigerDirect for $24. At that price I had to give it a try. I couldn't be happier with it. My cpu never gets much hotter than 50c under normal stress w 1.44v. 58c max under Prime after an hour or so. Room temp was 20-25c.

xHassassin, you're right, the 92mm version won't do as well as the 120mm version. But the 92mm version will well better than stock cooling.
What is easy to lose sight of in these relative comparisions is this. We see one cooler "stomp" the competition by 5C and we start to see the other models as "meh, worthless." The reality is that our chips today are some of the coolest in 10+ years; we are overclocking up to the temps that the P4D ran at stock. Any of today's top 20 or so coolers could easily be a super-star in a 3.0-3.4 GHz dual core overclock. Most could do fine for the quads too. No, you might not be top of the list. However, the point of overclocking for many is to get more value out of their investment. If a 92mm Vendetta costs you nothing but changes your CPU to a 3.4 GHz model and lowers the temps -- then you just scored an overclocking "one-up." Rob

Ok how about this, you sell your 40USD card to someone for 37USD, and use that 37USD to buy the Xigmatek S1283 from Newegg.
