Default Goin back to air :)

My main died on me again and I'm sick of fixing it...both windows installs died at the same time this time. My 250 Windows XP install, which has seen more hardware changes than...a hardware whore...decided to BSOD me every time I try and plug it in...My 2x250GB Raid0 Vista install just freezes on boot so I'm guessing that is the hepatitis from my whorish XP disk...I knew I shoulda bought SATA Condoms.

Anyway enough incredibly bad jokes. Long story short I'm building a new system to get me by for now, my first little tiny portable system, and will probably using my main systems CPU on it (E6600). Since my main system is watercooled, and I'm getting this case, I don't think I'll have much room to use the same LC solution... My only other Intel compatible Air-Cooler is those stupid stock plastic-plug-through-3-holes-and-watch-the-4th-pop-out which I have about 6 of.

Basically looking for something to (QUIETLY!) cool an E6600 that doesn't involve a chunk of pure copper with similar weight to the case itself. I was thinking the Thermalright 120 Extreme I've been hearing so much about over the last few months, but I think it might be a little too big (unless someone can confirm it will fit?) I'm looking for load temps in the 40-45 range (assuming ambient <25)

If it matters, motherboard will be this

Looks like Old Faithful has seen her last game of StarCraft...think I'ma have to sell her

Anyways, suggestions?

Get a Zalman 9500. Sturdy little things, don't weigh much. And for a Dual core 65nm, it'll do it's job admirably.

Or you can get the slightly bigger, slightly heavier 9700.

I've owned a 9500, and 9700 before, and though they worked well they were quite large..since I'm getting a tiny case, I'm not sure if this would be a problem or not...

Why recommend a Zalman over a TRUE. The TRUE will get better temps, just make sure to lap it.

He mentioned about the TRUE being a bit big for his likes,

Although I have to agree that its an awesome cooler.

I'll assume TRUE means the thermalright.

From what I have seen yes it is an amazing cooler, and I would definatly get it, if I know it will fit in the case...that is the only thing I am uncertain about.

Wish the tiger gave more pics of the case :\

If anyone has this case and a 'TRUE', leme know.
