Awesome guide Retrospekt! Very informative and covers the basics well. I like how how neutral and unbiased it is. Should be sticky...

Why are Yate Loons always recommended? The Antec Tricool's do 80 cfm @ 30 db, and of course the inbuilt controller to turn 'em down

Like I said, I needed help with the hardware. I just put down YateLoons because I have some and love them.

Thanks for reminding me of the Tri-Cools.

^^i agree! i just bought one and it works great. got the silver cause that's all they had on the egg, but i actually like the color a lot. LED's brightness changes with voltage, it can take 30 w per channel, and it controls 6 fans.

^^add that to the fan controller section

this is a good thread, didnt read all of it but its long and has a lot of words so +rep!

EDIT: add in a decibel scale for people who don't know how loud things are, just puts stuff into perspective.

If you look in my thread I'll allow you to steal some of them. There are a lot depending on tastes though, so maybe just copy the whole darn thing

This is a very good guide in my opinion. It is organized very well, clearly worded, and accurate in terms of information.

You might want to add that if you use a fan controller, the fan you are controlling should be a 3 pin and not a 4-pin molex only fan.

Also, the Cooler Master Hyper TX-2 should be in the budget heatsinks.

How about for lower budget cases, the Cooler Master 590 and Antec 300 also have good air cooling capabilities.
