Default X1900XT Cooler

Well, ICEQ 3 is finally starting to fail on me. The fan's been making motor noise for a few months now, but it recently got really loud, and the fan doesn't seem to be doing nearly as good a job as it used to. So it's time for a new cooler.

I'm probably going to get an HD4k series card soon, but I'd prefer to have a good GPU cooler since the X1900XT will be doing backup duty. So I'm not looking to spend too much.

I'm also a bit tight on space, so the HR-03 Rev. A is somewhat out of the question.

I'm also rather against proprietary fans (too many of them have caused me too much grief over the years), so no Zalman VF900 recommendations please.

With all that in mind, the chief contestant on my list is the Thermalright V2. I rather like the look of it, and from what I've seen it cools reasonably well. Most of the reviews I've seen have been using 8600 or 7-series cards unfortunately, so if anyone knows of any reviews of this cooler that used an X1800/X1900/X1950 card I would definitely appreciate it. If anyone has used this cooler before and has anything to add, I'd love to hear it.

One final question - it looks like the cooler sits a bit low, but does it look like I might be able to get one of those Silverstone 92mm-fan in an 80mm frame units in there? Or would that be hitting my motherboard?

It is a good cooler, but the proprietary fan turns me off.
