It doesnt help that my apartment is at a constant ambient of 82, but I am trying to reach 4.0 on just air. I can but it is short lived. I just ordered some case fans(70cfm) so I am gonna replace my 'Tuniq' cpu fan as well as put up fans by the HD bay (nice touch by the way) and put one at the exhaust. Gettin the air out is most important. Another thing is the NB and SB so I wanna get some new heat spreaders w/fans for them and it should help. For now my chip is at 3.8 and its running a little hot but not over 61. If theres anything else you can reccomend, please dont hesitate to write. I will do the same if I am made aware of anything. Pics are coming soon! oh BTW how do you put in your system stats once then never again? I cant find it in the edits of my account...

Thanks

Case:Cosmos
Motherboard:680i/sli
Cpu:E8400@3.8 air
OS HD:WD Raptor 150GB
OS:Vista Premium 64
Memory:2x2GB G.Skill 1000MHz
Video Card:8800 Ultra
Sound Card:X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatality Sound Card
To put your system specs in go to User CP at the top and then on the left go to edit system.

I should be putting those fans in at the end of the month so I will let you know how they do. Look up TJHarlow he did an awesome setup with his Cosmos and had a q6600 down to I think 31-32 with just air.

rdiigraphics you have a nice setup there. Now all you have to do is clean those wires up. Put them behind motherboard tray where they belong hehehe.

I used to think hot air rises too. But that's one of the million ways heeat interacts. When you factor in airflow, heat only rises in Dells, lol.

I'm a pretty good friend of his so if you want high-res pics of his work I have some somewhere in my email inbox.

I do pride myself in giving him some ideas and finally beating his temps

Back when he was getting roughly 31 I was at 36 or so.

Everyone is posting pics of they're babies. I don't have a recent pic of mine yet, but I made it so I get better temps with less fans at lower rpm's. I guess this pic is just to laugh at how I used to roll

I found a within-two-weeks recent pic after all!

Damn that is alot of fans Adrienspawn..

Ok I got three of the Ultra Kaze 2000rpm fans in. They are huge!!!! Also finally got some MX-2 paste that I have been wanting. Well the out come I am really please with. I would say dropped temps 2-3 degrees. I am idle while typing this at 34, 34, 32, 33. Its not that cool in here. I would say around 78-79F is room temp.

Well if anyone else comes up with anything else if they could let me know.

Thanks

I replaced the exhaust and roof fans with Antec Tricool models. Replaced the intake and HSF with 2200rpm Yate Loons and bought an Antec Tricool for my RAM and NB. Seems to work fine unless ambient temps are hot.

I have the cosmos but the bottom fan facing the hard drive wont do much... If you're not using the bottom drive bay then i would put the one fan facing down on the hard drives. other than that the rest are in good position...and make sure the the rear fan is powerful. Case looks good. Great wiring job!
