Hey, I am wondering if you think this will help my temps at all or am I just waisting my time

First my computer is in a corner so take this into consideration.



Here is my current fan setup



This is what I am thinking about doing. Its not changing much but maybe.



Please let me know your opinions on this or on any other setup you know that works well with the Cosmos. I want to stay on air so water cooling is out.

I'd swap one of the 83CFM fans to the rear behind the CPU to improve draw on the CPU FHS. With which front/bottom fan, unsure. You'd have to try each one to see which works best but definitely put a high volume behind the CPU FHS.

Will do. I think I will swap the bottom one with the most rear one. Also do think this will make a difference??

Most of the heat is from the CPU, so the quicker you get it out the better.
Try this too. Get a pop bottle, rinse it out and cut cylinder equal to the distance from the front of your CPU HSF to just slightly short of the rear exhaust fan. Then split the pop bottle cylinder so that its about 3/4 the diameter of your CPU HSF. Slip it over the HS so that it nearly reaches the rear fan. If the bottle is smaller in diameter than the HS, it will provide its own retention.
AKA: A fan shroud to the exhaust fan. A cheap and easy duct mod to see if you can channel the air to improve temps

OK new thought.

I played with the fans I have. I just moved one of the 73CFM fans to the back and it lowered temps by 4-5 degrees. So with that I am thinking about doing this.

I'm wondering if you still use the "VGA air duct" that comes stock with the case. I have the same case and I just haven't decided whether or not to include the air duct. I'm looking to add a fan or two in the near future; we all know the stock fans are fine but they don't move a ton of air. So, if you could list the actual fan models you're using I'd appreciate it.

No I do not use the air duct that came with it. The two fans in front of the HDD cage do not allow it now.

I plan on the Scythe Ultra Kaze 2000rpm model for the 87CFM fans and I have 2 73CFM fans that I got from best buy. I am trying to find a nice balance between airflow and noise.

Turn the two top fans to intake, and the bottom one to exhaust.

Also try to get two 60mm fans on the bottom left, under the video card.

That's what worked best for me.

I just joined this site today, so I dont have any pics of my comp. Very nive work with your cosmos wiring. My friend told me about this site because I just got an E8400, and am having some heat issues with my Cosmos. It doesnt help that my apartment is at a constant ambient of 82, but I am trying to reach 4.0 on just air. I can but it is short lived. I just ordered some case fans(70cfm) so I am gonna replace my 'Tuniq' cpu fan as well as put up fans by the HD bay (nice touch by the way) and put one at the exhaust. Gettin the air out is most important. Another thing is the NB and SB so I wanna get some new heat spreaders w/fans for them and it should help. For now my chip is at 3.8 and its running a little hot but not over 61. If theres anything else you can reccomend, please dont hesitate to write. I will do the same if I am made aware of anything. Pics are coming soon! oh BTW how do you put in your system stats once then never again? I cant find it in the edits of my account...
