Coretemp seems to be telling me different temperatures for my E7200. When I entered bios, it told me my temp for both cores were mid 30sC. But when Windows loaded and I opened core temp, it's telling me mid 40sC. Is something wrong or its normal to jump 10C from boot to windows?

The BIOS reads off the surface of the chip, while Coretemp reads the temperature at the core. It's perfectly normal for Coretemp to read around 10-15c higher than your BIOS.

To my Knowledge, BIOS actually counts as about an 80% load. On my system I read mid 30cs in BIOS and I idle at about 25c in windows. And my old socket A system consistently saw mid 40s in BIOS and I would idle at 37c. I haven't heard that this was different for Intel, but I guess it could be. If someone could let me know if thats right or not, I'd appreciate it, that way I don't go around and tell people something thats not true. I just haven't spent much time in the Intel camp as of late.
