I guess my point is, what if the tested TRUE was shipped flat as it was ment to be, or it was warped. What if the competing HS was warped lie the TRUE because there popularity increased and the production became flawed like the TRUE.

So, IMHO, any results would be skewed regardless. The only reasonable factor would be to test with the TRUE unlapped and lapped to focus on the variant. And as stated with the various types of fans in each surface condition.
What I'm vying (vouching?) for as well. My english=bad vocabulary

Lapping introduces more room for human error, and there's already plenty of that in a heatsink comparison what with TIM application, mounting, varying ambient temperatures, etc.

I do agree that a thicker fan should be used though - it's not about CFM so much as static pressure, something 38mm fans have in spades. Still, that's more money out of your pocket, and it is absolutely your call as to whether or not you want to do this. Me personally, I'll probably be attempting a test like this with the Noctua NH-C12P if I find the time.

I'm going to give this cooler a shot if I can sell my TRUE on CL.

If I get my hands on this cooler, and since the fins are different than a true should I still stick with a 120x38 2k Kaze?

If you already have one I'd give it a shot over the NF-P12 and see what sort of results you get. Or you could consider having the Ultra Kaze as the pushing fan, and the NF-P12 as the exhaust.

With the Noctua you really don't need a high CFM fan, it dominates with low CFM, its what it was designed for.

It will come with a NF-P12 so you can always check the difference between your kaze

It works well enough, but I think you can shave off a few degrees with a higher-RPM fan. I think I saw a test to that effect, but I can't remember where (maybe Bit-Tech, Xbitlabs or Hardwarecanucks).

If you replace the NF-P12 with a YL 88cfm, the Noctua beats all according to the benchmark reviews crew.

I'd like to find a review where they use two of the 2 YLs
