And (IMO), it's a much better looking cooler than the TRUE.

Think about it though, with the TRUE for example, you get only the heatsink, with this you get the whole package - damn good fan, resistor wires, all that. If you bought a true, you'd have to fork out another ten bucks on a fan.. Leaving the prices pretty similar.

Plus with this you get cracking build quality!

here's mine, quite impressed my camera not showing motion blur, but all the fans are spinning. quite disappointed in the temps though, temps currently 56-58 @60% load, go to low-mid 60s @100%, not sure if lapping the cpu may help.
very, very quiet (silent) even without the resistors, only my GPU making noise

The fan is on backwards. Face it the right way and see if that helps.

Fans should say 'front towards enemy' rather than the dinky arrow they have on them.

crikey, current airflow is noc fan on suck, case fan blowing out, 1 direction flow. will take the advice anyway, going to lap the cpu tonight (i think, got 400,800+1200 paper ready), thinking about turning the cooler 90 degrees so it faces the (very hot) northbridge rather than the ram, good idea?

You should have it like my picture.

The fan should blow the air through the heatsink and that air will be taken away by the PSU and the rear fan, which is set as exhaust.

The way you have it right now, the rear fan is blowing air backwards, and the noctua is trying to pull it forwards.

<---CASE FAN-------[NOCTUA]--->

See how the struggle for airflow (the red part) is restricting the airflow do your cooler? The exhaust fan and CPU fan are struggling for the small amount of air in the one spot. What you want is this.

<---CASE FAN---<----<-----[NOCTUA]

Much friendlier airflow

Also, how much thermalpaste did you use?

quick lap (bleeding fingers) about a grain of rice of paste, fan t'other way round, temps reaching 62 with prime95, wanting to go to 3.2-3.3, but a bit wary generating this much heat already

Those temps just seem too hot for that chip and this cooler. What voltage did you say you were running?
