Sick, cheers for your review Jason I am just about to lap my noctua in search of a drop, my chip's lapped already, just got the sand paper : ) ill report back or start a new thread once completed in ~30 mins.

I lost 3 degrees on 2 cores and 1 degree on the other 2 as a result of lapping the Noctua....not nearly as good - of - a - result(s) as you and the other bloke got...oh well...

I think the reason mine dropped so much is because my cooler base was litterally concave. This pic is exagerated obviously but you see what I mean. That is pretty much the way my cooler was until I lapped it. No wonder i got such good temps afterwards. I took a long time to hit the copper in the center of the base.

yeah, I took hardly any time to get the copper all gone, just in two spots in the middle were deep.

Ya, I think mine wasnt even touching the center of the CPU. Thats where it needs the most preasure. I kinda understand why the TRUE has that weird outward bulge in the middle now. Makes it easier to get center contact without having to be super accurate I guess.

Im in love. Only thing I don't like is that the heatpipes will interfere with taller NB sinks (like the Noctua). I thought it odd that I had such a hard time getting my noctua NB and my noctua CPU sinks to fit together. It worked, but the NB is pumping heat right into the CPU. (see avatar)

Hey, all, I love my noctua and all, but the fans had to be that odd two-tone brown color.

Are there any equivalent or better fans for the Noctua?
