Personally I would lap it and see if the case fits back on... Open cases are kinda...pointless, y'know?

I mean get a rack if you want open air, just don't but a case then leave it open....you payed for the door too lol.
A Tech Station would be nice too

Sometimes nasty things happen. Keep the side panel on.

Besides, it just looks better that way, and keeps some miscellaneous debris out.

Whether it was the washer or taking the side panel off, you've just found a way to drop 2C off the temps.

However, what difference does 2C make? If it's taking you from an unsafe temperature to a safe temperature (i.e. 71C to 69C if 70C is the 'safe' limit) then your CPU isn't going to last for that much longer anyway.

I'd say keep the side on TBH

I'm sure it was suggested already, but if you either use a smaller washer or lap the bottom more it should fit fine.

The 2C was most likely from the open panel, though. Try taking the bolt off and leaving the panel open and see if it makes a difference. It could be your pressure was good enough and the washer made no difference.

But I still say use a smaller washer and lap the bottom more, that way it's the best of both worlds.

lol! so true!! i didnt notice till you pointed it out :P theres a name for not seeing something because you are concentrating on something else in the picture *something* blindness, thats what it was! ^^ and not, not all cases are the same width unfortunatly, maybe you could make a little hole in your case for the true to slightly poke out if you arent bothered about how it looks that is

Yeah how more people didn't realize that is beyond me.
