Here are some US prices that I found. I didn't find the Xilence Red Wing fan anywhere. Surprisingly, none of these were on Newegg. Yate Loon D12SL-12 - $6.99 - www.frozencpu.com Noctua NF-P12 - $20.75 - www.frozencpu.com Akasa Amber - $13.95 - www.sidewindercomputers.com Arctic Cooling 12025L - could not find this exact model but other models in the $10-12 range

Post a picture of the test setup? I'm curious...
Also, any chance of getting pressure testing? How about RPM data? How many times do you test? Averaging multiple remounting will help account for the accuracy of the instruments.

![]() I'm hoping to get one made up out of wood early next week, and then I'll redo all the tests. At the moment, I'm using a plastic tub which has a radius of 114mm and a hole cut out the other end the size of the CFM meter, and then I attach both the fan and the CFM meter on with extremely large amounts of tape to ensure no slippage. The amount of double sided tape I've been through is insane! The plan for the new one is that it will be made out of wood - I want to attach 4 30mm bolts from the inside of the panel so that I can slide the fan onto it, and then screw some nuts in so that it's held in place. The wood will form a box, and I'm still looking at the easiest way to build a simple "tunnel" to redirect air as much as possible into the CFM meter - it's quite small, radius is only about 3cm. Like I said, I'll be retesting when I get the new box, but these should be pretty close to accurate as the shroud is pretty much air tight ![]() RPM data I'm not sure on; I've got an external fan controller style device which I can plug a fan into and it'll provide 5, 7 or 12V depending on connection. Is RPM data important? If so I can make something which will split the 3-pin connection so it gets power from that device and provides the motherboard with an RPM reading? I test 2 or 3 times - if the first 2 tests are similar I'll take the average, if they aren't I'll do a couple more tests and take the average of the similar figures ![]() Thanks for all the support so far guys e_dogg - I'll add them to the first post, thanks

one other thing someone is looking for in tests is static pressure.... just wondering if theres any way to test this with the materials you have available

![]() However, higher static pressure should lead to a lower CFM drop on the radiator airflow test?

Any chance you could tell me what you use for CFM measurements? Is it one of the Extech airflow meters?
