Nope...

Just did a bit of research - the anemometer is made by a company called Landtek and you can see it here:

I don't know if you can grab a Zalman ZM-F3. There aren't many reviews for them but someone at XS swaers by them. Would be nice to see this backed up. I have one and I like it - wish I could lend it to you but its kinda integral to keeping my CPU below 80*C.
I must say they are very quiet and push alot of air. Only cost £4.50 at chilledPC.

I'll pick one up of those then

Sorry about the delay in posting - I would explain but I haven't got long on.

Sourced a Panaflo thanks to a kind member on him; I'll name him later!

Nice thread, that Red wing looks pretty cheap and good via spec and cfm.But when tested, just like any other good advertised product.

Trying to get this back on track in the next couple of days but life is hectic at the moment.

Big thanks to nafljhy - the 38mm Panaflo looks like a beast, can't wait to test it!

The idea for making a enclosure at the moment is:

114mm diameter drain pipe section
Mount the 120mm at one end onto a mounting plate (wood or acrylic) which is permenantely hot glued in place - the fan will be mounted with bolts and wing nuts to allow for quick removal
Mount the CFM meter on another mounting plate at the other end - not quite sure how I'm going to do this.

Then I'm thinking another section of drainpipe after the CFM meter?

Just some disjointed thoughts, any comments?

I think that would probably work okay
Although it would depend on how long the tube is.
By the way as far as Dba's go it may also be useful to note down whether the noise is annoying - for example I had an akasa amber which had a really annoying motor whine but still had a low Dba rating.

As far as the Zalman - Might want to read here -

That's the plan - I'll comment on motor noise, air noise, etc, plus I'll try and say what's quieter than it in a similar CFM range

I take it you mean Slip Stream? I'm definitely going to try and pick up a few Scythe fans to add to the test.

As for Deltas, I'll be testing those once I've got through the more sensible fans

The Slip
