Default XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 or OCZ Vendetta 2

Hi everyone,

I want to buy one of the above coolers but cant decide which one i should go for... i currently have a Scythe Mine Rev B cooling my overclocked Q6600 (3.4GHz) but with the summer heat im seeing core temps of 63 - 67*C at max load, i would also like to overclock a bit more to like 3.5 - 3.6GHz as i know my CPU/MOBO can take it but my temps would be too high.

Which out of the 2 coolers above do you suggest i buy

Thanks

It's really your call on how much you want to spend... I believe the OCZ Vendetta 2 performs marginally better but costs about $10 more... for that price, you could probably get the Xigmatek HDT-S1283, purchase a slightly better fan and get a bolt through kit for better pressure mounting... either way, you'll be making a great purchase

This one puts the vendetta 2 in front as well.

Just thought I'd give you some more input... although when it comes down to it... most of the time their only off by like a degree or so, and it will be hard to notice that most of the time.

Good luck on your purchase

Oh and I'd just go for whichever one I could get for cheaper at the time.

Go with the Xigmatek, and buy the bolt thru kit. Installation was the easiest ever with the bolt thru kit. Temps haven't touched 38C on a stock E6300 load. Idles a good 31C

Thermalright Bolt Through Kit

Yeah, as I stated in my first post... the Xigmatek is a decent bit cheaper than the Vendetta 2... with the money you save by going with the 1283, you can purchase a bolt through and better fan

HDT-S1283 vs. OCZ Vendetta 2 vs. TRUE

Its just too hard to tell which one is better. I'd suggest going with the cheapest one you can find...

Read about a small mod you may have to do with the TR
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/user-...pu-cooler.html

You can also just get the Xigmatek Crossbow kit that is made for the S1283:
