I'm assuming a HDT 1283 won't fit, I would go for the AC Freezer 7Pro. It's dirt cheap now

The S963 is on sale on newegg for $14-15 after MIR, and has been for some time. I hear its an excelent cooler, especially in applications like yours, where the S1283 doesn't fit. The artic cooler is a proven HSF, and usually runs a little bit more $ than the Xig.
For my money, I would probably go with the Xig, its cheaper, and because the heapipes contact the CPU directly, It should be better (more efficient) than the artic cooler. Theres my 2 cents, but when it comes down to it... they should both do just fine. Good luck

Try these ones... they aren't directly compaired, but they are tested on the same system, as well as compaired to the same competition.

I had an Arctic Freezer. It was a great HSF. It took my Q6600 to 3.6 without hesitation. A little hot for load temps so I tuned it down. At stock, idle and load temps were no more than 45c. I highly recommend it.
My current Xig HSF only beats it by a few C's to be honest... Good luck with whatever you choose

I'd get the Xig, and this is coming from a satisfied AC Freezer 7 Pro user. I don't see how the Xigmatek wouldn't cooler better if it is the same size and has direct heatpipe contact.

The S963 is most definitely better than the Freezer. I used to have one, and it did an amazing job for how small it was.
Plus, the Xigmatek HDT-S963 has a standard 92mm fan, whereas the Freezer does not.
