Default Fan On Heatsink Broke! Mod Time :)

I was folding and noticed my computer was unusually silent. I took if off quickly and put my finger on the heatsink. It was burning. I found that ALOT dust had gotten lodged in the fan. Decided to do a little ghetto modding!

BEFORE(CPU FAN , OLD PIC)

AFTER!

And When Installed

And temps!

---------Flames will be reported---------

For two reasons. One: To extend the fan so it is right against one of my cases' vents. And secondly because the fan I had on had was bigger, and the duct basically acted as a "converter" from small to larger ^_^

Update 8 hours later

Been folding all nigh and temps didn't go over 59*C which is better than when I had the old fan brand new and it would reach 65 degrees!

Nice mod..that will def improve temps..if you put the more powerful fan right at the top and take the fan at the bottom off..that will improve temps further..i did this once around 4 years ago..worked well.
