Im not to sure on how well the supplied thermal paste works. I left that in the box along with the AMD brackets . If its just some generic goop. Im sure it would be acouple of degrees Celsius above AS5. ~6. Im not to sure though.

Here. Although, I didnt get that one. I got the Thermalright s775 Bolt-thru kit. For the kit I got, The pillars protrude through the motherboard. Thats why I sanded it down.

Edit: Oops. I gave you a newegg link. I didnt see that you were in England. Ill search one up now.

Edit 2: here you go (click the face)

Edit 3: The Rocker, since I gave you a link to a Thermalright Bolt-thru kit... You would need to sand down the pillars also, just as I did on post #17.

I freaking hate the push pin method. When I purchased my Xigmatek HDT-S1283, I forgot to also purchase a bolt-thru-kit (still haven't purchased one), so I had to mount it using the push-pin method. it gave me so much trouble, and when I finally got it in, I looked at my hand, and I had small cuts all over it from the heatsink fins.

I dont see how people have trouble installing push-pins... It literally took me 2 mins to push the pins in. No trouble at all.

Since I cant get my hands on AS5. I will be using OCZ Ultra 5+. It is believed that Arctic Silver makes the Ultra 5+ for OCZ. I will email OCZ to verify that.

Fully updated.

OCZ didnt write me back... shame.

Also, when I mod a blowhole on the top, I will be recording temps for only the bolt-thru kit.

Can you get a close-up of the top of the bracket on the Vendetta? I think your kit might be a bit different from mine as I don't see how I can fit it.

What top bracket? I only have the back plate + screws. There is no top bracket. I just removed the push-pins from the vendetta and used the holes that were already there for the screws.
