Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is very strange. I too have problems with it. The places that the pipes don't touch the CPU scare me. I got OCZ Freeze 1 day ago and my idle lowered 2 C and load from 69 went to 61.

Reapply TIM?

The Xigmatek is really hard to install properly with the AM2 clips without messing up the TIM (At least, it is for me)

Hold the heatsink up to a lightsource, with a razer, and look for light to shine through. Don't lap the heatpipes to much, or they might bust.
