corry, does the AM2 socket need a bolt-through kit with the xig-s1283?
i know people get much better temps when they add the LGA775 bolt-through. does the AM2 use push pins?

had my heatsink with 120 on bottom (laying horizontal) , pushing thru heatsink , and facing 200mm on top of case pulling out. Just switched it vertical , with 120 on front Pushing through , 120 on back pulling , and 120 on case pulling right behind it , 1C drop only , and reapplied TIM , because my last application only had like 1/2 the cpu covered , it wasnt even centered!! *** is vertical overrated?

Cool thanks. What grit of sandpaper did you use and approximately how long did you lap it for? I'm kinda on the fence about this, I've been searching and some people have sanded through the heatpipe, so I'm a little bit worried. When I was lapping my SonicTower I didn't have to worry about it.
