Hey guys. You've all be so helpful before so here I am with a little request for information. For starters I want a new cooler for my Sapphire Radeon HD4850.
It's the 512Mb single slot version of the card. http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/produ...gpid=244&grp=3 I do not like the DuoOrb cooler. Yes I want something that performs, but i also want something I'll be proud to look at. In all my question is, what coolers are compatible with the HD4850. I've done lots of research but nothing makes sense to me. I understand how it works, I just have yet to find something I like that i believe will be truly effective. Thanks in advance for the replies.

The duorb is a nice looker, not sure about performance, although quite a few on here have them on their cards.
There are a few options - The Accelero S1 - I have this as it performs great on these cards. I load at 53*C with a very low speed (700rpm) 120mm fan. It looks slightly fugly but looks much better once you pry the black plastic ends off to reveal the heatpipe ends. Its very cheap for what it can do. Thermaltake TRad2 - Apparantly one of the best for the HD4850 as far as cooling...looks okay. Rather expensive at over $50. I would (and have) gone for the Accelero. See here for a good fitting pics- http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...review-23.html Leave this ramsink till last - ![]() Put it on after the HS so there is no clearance issues.

I'm personally going to be trying out the Xigmatek battle-axe next week after my local Microcenter gets them back in stock. With the current MIR it ends up being $3. Ridiculous yes, but it gets good reviews, and for that price what can I lose?

I use the Twin Turbo on my 8800GT. It's an option to look at.

Accelero S1. It keeps cards cool silently. I have installed it on a 3870 and 4850, always works.
Pictures You will need to buy a few ramsinks to cover the VRM area, though.
