Exactly how much height do you have to shave off from your TRUE to get your motherboard tray to slide in?

If it's minor, get the Noctua.

If it's major, get the Tuniq...and lap it.

Technical Spec

Heatsink Body

* Dimension : L146.2 x W124 x H161 mm (heatsink only)
* Weight : 790g (Heatsink Only)

Still too tall, I need something that's shorter than 140mm.

I do not know the order in which you have to remove each section, so I am not sure.
The support is riveted into place. And I don't want to mess around with rivets.

20mm, so yeah, that's the way I'm leaning as of right now.

If you can find one, a GeminII will do the job wonderfully. Only 76MM thick without fans, leaving you MORE than ample room to mount your two 120X38's(Or any other fan setup you could want on it), and it will be able to keep your quad in it's safe range pretty easily. 1.65Vcore on my sig rig and it still keeps my load at 40-50C, and I have maybe 35CFM from my two fans(1x92mm ThermalTake casefan, mainly for it's pretty orange impellor, and an 80mm Delta OEM CPU fan, which is the real pusher here). For some reason, Newegg carries it's smaller brother, but not it, so you'll have to look on eBay for one. Still...it's SHORT. It's still huge, and 850g or so, but it's only 76mm tall without fans, perfect for your needs.

ZipZoomFly has them in stock, 35 bucks.

:P It's the only cooler I can think of that will cool OP's quad sufficiently while fitting within his height requirements, and it will do so with any fan OP could put on there. With my two fans, it's shorter than my normal-height X800!

I doubt that it is a mid-tower, it's pretty big. I think it's a full tower.

I'm not sure what you mean by "side panel mobo mounting feature". I am fully able to close my case all the way with the HSF mounted.

The problem occurs when I have the HSF mounted on the MB tray while it is removed, and when I try and slide the tray back into place, the top of the HSF gets caught on the vertical support on the back of the case.

There is no door, just that the MB tray slides out and back in.

And I am trying to not have to mount it the "old fashioned way". With the amount of money I spent on this case, the removable MB tray and the convenience that comes along with it is partly what I paid for.

Thanks for the help, though!
That's the of the day...

Strange, IBT raises my core temps by a solid 5*C over Prime95's Small FFT.

Hmmm... I haven't thought about any "horizontal" style coolers before. But if you say it's good, I might have to add it to my consideration list.

However, it might not be what I'm looking for, since my case is inverted ATX, and I need the air to move up, not out.

Thanks! Rep+

The GeminII blows down onto the mobo. From there, airflow dictates where the air goes...

It's the thinnest cooler you will find that will keep your OC'd quad well within spec, and you can keep the fan you have on your TRUE :P I've had mine so long the warranty has expired, never had a problem from it.

Well, if size is an issue, why not consider a Noctua NH-C12P.
Despite being a downdraught cooler, it only cools less by 3c maximum, plus it helps cool your mobo, NB, RAM.
It's a lot shorter and will fit anywhere. Info Here. [Links on left for specs]
Height - 114 mm
Width - 126 mm
Depth - 152 mm

(And being a Noctua, you get a well finished base [No lapping], a great fan [NF-P12] and non-conductive non-curing compound [NT-H1] + the L.N.A and U.L.N.A [Cut fan speed and noise.])

It's a complete package.
