Yep saber's correct:
stock Xigmatek S1283 fan is 56.3CFM./ 1.57mmH2O @27.2dBA
Just out of curiosity;
What's the noise level with that UltraKaze on "Auto"?

and for others-this isn't another TRUE vs Xiggy Vs OCZV2 thread
YES we have all seen your results -you guys did a great job- Cookies and pats on the back for you- -now can you please stop with the threadcrapping everytime somebody even mentions the Xiggy series-
We get it!....
The TRUE Beats it for Quads at Load- it can't keep up with the heat output- we know.....
The OCZ V2 slightly beats it; we get that too...
(Actually depends on whose test methods and results you want to pick as "the most correct")
but,
MW is asking for help with his Xiggy S1283 with the stock fan
soooo.
, back to MW's high temp problem...
[/rant]

from the wildly disparate temps it does seem like your TIM application is a bit "off"; try one last time-exactly like the picture saber posted- don't even clean the cooler base of really well, leave some of the goop from this last mount in the cracks between the pipes( after all it's still fesh) )look at the picture closely- "goop in the cracks"
You may also want to try orienting the Xiggy upwards and passing all of the exhaust air through your A900 250mm top fan- you may be getting some stagnation/vortexing/ dead spots trying to exhaust out the back and out the top- if you're doing a remount anyway.... try it!!!!
I'll bet you $$$s your temps drop at least 2° over the rear exhaust mount with your "ceiling/top exhaust fan running!

Cheers and good luck

[and as far as the OCZV2- yeah it edges out the standard Xiggy- by a slimmest of margins,- but, not for long!

The noise level isnt to bad its a lot better then having it full speed all day long. I wanted to do a push pull config but this is good enough. Can't really hear it over my system fans.

I also have mine aimed towards my big fan also. Not what I wanted but I was limited. My Zalman 9700 would get up to 70+ on load. I wanted to test the stock cooler vs the Ultra Kaze but I was to lazy. Right now my Ambient is 35 and my CPU is 34.

With a worse fan, maybe 50, and the difference between it and the Xigmatek can be 10C on a quad.

Out of the 100's of benchmark reviews of these coolers can you please show me a single one proving 10c cooler with a true? i have done the searching, a few show the Xig ahead and others have benchmarks proving the true was a few C cooler at high overclocks, thats 2-3c NOT 10c. hes asking for advice not super exaggerated theories.

Agreed thats why I went with the Xiga a lot of test I have seen it beet the TRUE til the second fan was added. And since its almost have the price I thin the Xiga is awesome. I just bought mine for 20 bucks at microcenter yesterday.

I have been having problems with my cooler too. I get 65 load with 3.8Ghz 1.45volts. I have been told a Kaze 3000 should bring my temps much lower then i have now.

Default heat problems

make sure you remember to put a horzinal and vertical line in the paste it helps keep one core from heating up the others also helps to disapate heat. not a very thick line just us a .07 mechanical pencil to make lines for duel core just make a horizintal line but i think you said you were useing a q6600 so horizintal and vertical for you since its a quad. also make sure paste is very even if its too thick in places that will make a huge difference especially if its directly over one core. I normally spread it with my finger and then use a something to even it out (i got a peace of plastic from a friend who builds all the time that will smash out the paste without the paste sticking to it i assume its got some waterbased covering or something) trim any extra off the edges of processor then put lines in. if all else fails and you dont care about warrenty just lapp it. I did an old conroe with watercooling and got up to 3.5 ghz from 2.33 with 45c on load. the lapping brought it down about 7 degrees if i remember correctly any questions just ask ill be looking back to see if you have any.

When I say the Xigmatek is worse than the TRUE, what I'm saying is don't be surprised by the higher temps. That's exactly how it's supposed to perform, there's nothing ''wrong'' with it. You can do a reseat or order a better fan. If you do, gut the stock Xigmatek fan to make a shroud.

Alright, so I ended up doing it tonight. I cleaned off the cpu and the hsf, except for the little gaps. I placed the tim exactly like the picture saber posted. Also, I moved one of the drive cages on my case which has an intake fan to the top, but left it empty, so it should have a nice flow from front to back, with fresh air coming in, going through the fan on the heatsink, and straight out the back.

@ Idle it is @ 2.4 ghz it is 35-32-28-31, and prime95 100% load after 20 min its been a steady 50-48-44-46. Doesn't seem fantastic, but definately better then earlier today.

Gonna bring it up to 3 Ghz and see what temps i get.
