Default So I am buying a new heatsink need your opinion.

I am running a q6600 @ stock for now (2.4ghz) 2gb ddr3 ram Intel dx38bt 4870 etc etc...

I have a full tower case with the power supply on the bottom of the case so no worries about room.

these were what i was thinking.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835103047 cooler master z600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835233003 XIGMATEK HDT-S1283
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835154001 Tuniq tower 120mm

I am gonna be doing the heaviest on air OCing i can and need some good heat dispersion.

I will also try to put 2 maybe 4 120 mm fans on these heatsinks.

If your gonna post go zalman don't post at all i have never bought a zalman with good temps.

I am kinda leaning towards the xiggy but i hate that i have to buy the extra mounting bracket. (damn pushpins!)

any help is very appreciated and i am buying this today.

thanks, Jesse Stillwell.

Not sure how you are going to get 4 fans on a heatsink, but I think from that list, the xigmatek will treat you the best. What happened to your last cooler?

The tuniq is a little better then the xigy but not by much. Would still be cheaper to get it and the retention bracket. You can't strap 4 120mm fans to a heatsink.... at least no effectivelty. One on either side, in a push-pull works pretty well and you shoudln't have any trouble getting a good overclock. The only problem is you are using an intel board, which are known for good stability, but terrible overclocking. It is really againts intel's interest to promote overclocking if you stop to think about it. The Q6600 does have a fairly high multiplier though, so if overclocking is not disabled in the bios, a theoretical 3.6ghz (1600fsb) is possible. That is about as far as most good Q6600 will go on air anyway.

Go with the xigy

Get either a TRUE or Scythe Mugen 2 (jab-tech sells it; 1-2c worse than TRUE)

If your going to spend that much why not go for the TRUE? Directron.com has them for $49.00.But out of the choice you have up your on point with the Xig.

I probably wont do 4 fans but if i was gonna i would do a double stack on two sides.

I just want the best air cooler, performance is my achievement not price.

Thanks for your replies.

I'd get the Xigmatek also. You don't HAVE to buy the mounting bracket, the pushpins are quite up to the job as long as you take care to install them properly. However always make sure the black/white parts slide freely before fitting, as they can be tight giving the impression that tons of force is required to fasten them down, also before finally pressing down on the pins, check all 4 are in the locking position and the white ends are inserted flush with the mobo. These checks will ensure that the pins will lockdown quite easily first time.

Why would you want another coolit? Either stick with air cooling or custom WCing loops.
