Still never said what your load temps are ;x

I just noticed what case you have, not the best airflow so considering that, your idle temps seem normal.

LOADTEMPSLOADTEMPSLOADTEMPS?

Now you can't ignore that ;D

My load temps are 58 56 59 56, yeah, not really good airflow case, I added a 120mm intake fan though, a Scythe S-Flex, loud as hell though.

I assume you filled in the gaps between the heatpipes and the aluminum fins, then applied the TIM.
I'm not quite sure if I did that....

I am in the same boat as you, i was told that AS5 is hard to apply to heat pipes so i used the MX2 provided , spread a thin layer over the CPU , then spread tiny layers on the gaps between the pipes and i was extra careful because not all the pipes make contact with the CPU i get 62-64C Load with Fan @1500 rpm via stock controller TJ-Max 100C and i do have a nice YL Fan on the back of the case that exhaust hot air off the cooler and doing a pretty good job

Ditch the AS5.

OCZ Freeze ftw...

I would also use another TIM, AS5 was the best some time ago but some have shown better results now, and are Non capacitive or electrically conductive. AS5 is not conductive but is slightly capacitive, why take the risk when better TIM's are available now. My favorite now is Innovation Cooling Diamond 7 Thermal Paste. best results of any TIM I have used.
Now with regards application HDT Coolers do require a slightly different technique. As shown HERE I know this has been shown here before but just thought I would add the link again for anyome who can't find it. I have tried many methods and this is the best for most TIM's out there. Even with your 4 Heatpipe Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer. Fill in the gaps between the Heatpipes and fins. I rubbed it in to the gaps very well to make sure there were no air pockets. ( Any air pockets or tiny bubbles between CPU and Cooler can greatly affect results.)
Then wipe off any excess leaving only the TIM between the heatpipes and aluminum fins, then apply to to HDT Cooler as shown in the link.
I would apply it on your cooler as shown in the pic I did.
I have had 3 HDT Coolers the XIGMATEK HDT-S963, the XIGMATEK HDT-S1284, and the one I found worked best the OCZ Vendetta 2.
The best results I got with the 4 Heatpipe version was applying the TIM as in the attached Pic. You may need to experiment a little. What works best for 1 does not always work best for someone else.
One last thing. Prior to application make sure the HSF and CPU are clean. To do this use Isopropyl Alcohol 90%+ pure (This is available from the chemist Drug store, and is very inexpensive.) or something like Arcti Clean and a lint free cloth or coffee filter paper. A clean HSF and CPU are very important for best performance. Good luck.

You applied TIM only on the gaps between the Heatpipes , nothing on the CPU or the Heatpipes it self ?

No, sorry you misunderstood, I would rub some TIM into the gaps between the fins and the heatpipes, wipe of the excess. This was just to fill in the gaps. Then would put 2 thin lines on the heatpipes as shown in the pic then attach the Cooler.
I now use IC Diamond Thermal paste and the technique I use for it is a little different again, I would fill the gaps between the fins and heatpipes, then put a blob in the middle of the CPU and attach the Cooler.
It took me many tries at different techniques, to find what worked best.
At a guess i think I must have reseated the HDT Coolers 30 - 40 times perhaps more, using different TIM's, to try and find what technique and TIM worked best.

Just wanted to chime in and thank you for the advice. My Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer is running at much lower temps now.
