Default Thermal Paste Application

I wanted to know if I applied my thermal paste right on my Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer, just picked up some Arctic Silver and I used this method. http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...emid=38&limit=

My idle temps are 44 40 44 41 using Realtemp 2.9 with 95 as TJ MAX.

If you meant like this, then yes it's correct. Atleast that's how I apply mine, tried several other ways but my temps were the lowest that way.

Your temps do seem a little high though for idle, but that all depends on your ambient, load temps are what you should be checking anyway.

Yes, I applied it that GTS. I thought my temps would be as low as like 38 or 39s? Also, I'm not even sure if I should set the TJMAX at 95, or should I, I read the calibration for RealTemp but that kind of confuses me.

Did you apply like this.
The difference is your Cooler has 4 heat pipes not 3 and the aluminum fins are thinner, but it is pretty much the same.

Yeah, I wasn't sure exactly what location to apply it since mine has 4 heat pipes so this is kinda where I applied it.

So what are your load temps then? You never said if you're running stock or overclocked either

Your temps should drop maybe 2-3c when the AS5 cures btw.

I would say that looks about right.
I assume you filled in the gaps between the heatpipes and the aluminum fins, then applied the TIM.
