Well, good idle, high loads usually mean a problem with contact pressure.
I've no experience with mounting a TT, will applying more pressure to the TT make the temps drop?

I have done the washer mod. And it was tight! To the point that it was making the mobo slightly bend =)

How many of these threads are you going to make? 8 threads? I'm not sure what else there is. You have one of those Q6600 that runs really hot. I think whe3ls had one of those also. You might want to PM him about it

Have you tried a stock cooler at stock clocks?

I know! I know! I have made a lot. I'm trying to get as many suggestions as possible. Sorry! The washer mod involves adding washers to the screws to gain more pressure.
