San Aces are great for pressure, as well. Just be prepared to pay out the nose for each fan.

I would suggest Panaflo FBA12G12M1BX, I have 2 of these push/pull config on my TRUE. Lowered the temps on my OC'd i7 920 4 GHz approx 5 - 6 degrees.. Running them at 9V, so they're nice and quiet.

You can also get Panaflos FBA12G12L1BX, they are quiet enough that you can probably run them at full speed. Sidewindercomputers.com has the Panaflos for $14.25 ea/2 for $28.

San Ace's are great fans, just too expensive.

Stay away from Deltas, even at 5V they're still noisy.

Any place that shows air pressure values for those fans? I still need 38mm fan clips! So I've heard regarding the noise produced by Delta fans - will they even run at only 5V?

Edit: The TRUE Black is surprisingly flat on the bottom, even when I hold a straight edge to it. Did Thermalright stop curving the bases?

Wow, that took several hours to lap, but I guess that comes with the territory of having to scrape through the nickel coating so that I can smooth out the copper beneath. Either way, my hands hurt... I went to 2000 grit. I have 2500 grit but I will save that to remove any oxidation that may accumulate before I put it to use.

I am trying to come up with a good name for my new build. It has a dark/black theme. When I come up with it, I'll start the log - I already have two entries: sleeving the Antec 1200 cables (including the fans) and lapping the TRUE Black.

I still can't find any air pressure measurements for either of those fans. If I were to choose one of those two I'd go for the first one. How are you connecting your fans to the TRUE since they are 38mm?

Use fan clips.

If you've got an unused 120mm fan, you should gut it and use it as a shroud. It greatly reduces noise above all, and improve temps a bit.

Same as for the 25mm fans, as long as it's got open corners it'll work with the included clips.

Ah. Didn't realize the fan clips would fit a 38mm fan as well.

TRUE all the way baby, cant afford it?

Then save for it, it is worth it.

My stuff is ICE cold and it works.

Just lap it.

Several hours I hear people say it takes?

Don't know what they are doing but mine took barely an hour & is beyond flat.

You should probably read the entire thread next time. I've already bought the TRUE Black and lapped it. You lapped a TRUE Copper which obviously does not have a zinc coating, so it won't take you nearly as long to lap as it did my TRUE Black.

Any other advantages to San Ace fans? I looked it up and their air pressure pails (6mm versus 9mm H2O) in comparison to a Delta fan.
