Unhappy High CPU Temps Need HSF Recomendations

when i built it the pc shop was closed so used a very old case and psu but i'm planning on upgrading to antec 1200 and silverstone element so atleast the case will be future proof but i wanted to check my temps before I upgraded
so anyway i ran this programme some guy told me about called occt(overclock checking tool) and speed fan to get the temps and the programme auto sets it too an hour so i started to run it then the temps after say 20 mins reached 60c so i stopped the programme is this too high i might overclock but people said its too risky but I don't think thats going to happen with temps of 60 at 100% load

so can someone recommend a cpu cooler

60c is getting hot for an x2 4600+. If the cpu is at stock, you might want to reseat-it and check your case ventilation.

If you are after good aftermarket coolers, both the OCZ Vendetta 2 or the xigmatek 1283 would be good choices.

When you reseated, did you clean off the old thermal compound and apply new thermal compound?

Oh and your case's lack of fans is a problem too

A noctua UH12P is a good cooler

What's your budget though (I'm not too familiar with New Zealand's currency myself)

You could always just buy a tube of AS5 and reseat your heatsink. When you remove a heatsink and put it back on without changing the thermal paste, you usually end up with worst temperatures.
