Yea, the first time I installed mine it was a pain. I tried for 10 min to do it before I removed my PSU. Made it quite a bit easier. Last time in installed it, I did it with the MoBo out of the case and it was real easy.

Your gonna be pushing the limits of the AC64 pro with a quad core.
It is a great dual core cooler, and for a stock quad it will be ok. I don't know for sure what kind of heat those quads put out when OC, but I know they are 125w, and the 64 was being pushed when OC a 90w Windsor dual core.
I know the AC 7 Pro (basically the same thing for Intel) can't handle an OC quad.

yea same here i sat there for atleast 15mins saying ***? then i was like maybe if i move da psu it might work hehe...

yea same i think it might be pointless for a quad

Well it will be running stock for now. would it be better to use Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound?

AS5 if you already have it. If you need to buy some then get MX-2 instead. Better pperformance without the conductivity/capacitance issues.
