The benefit that I see to the Noctua is that it doesn't need to be lapped to get good performance, and the cost is much more reasonable. It includes a $25 fan for the same cost of a TRUE.

You would have to find someone that has both to test them.

The problem with that is, my CPU and your CPU are not equal. I have 2 Q6600's. One with a 1.300VID, and one with a 1.225 VID. The low VID one runs about 10-15C hotter at the same clocks and voltages. It's just a REALLY hot chip for some reason.

That being said, I appreciate the offer, but it would be a much more clear result if both were tested using my methods, ambient temperature, thermal grease, etc.

I'm getting a TRUE soon..within the next couple of weeks, so I'll be able to test them both on the same system.

don't bother, Noctua NH-U12P is not even close to the league.

How many fewer tests there would've been if they simply tried a Lapped TRUE and a lapped NH-U12P, both with NF-P12 at both high and low RPMs.
Compairing a unlapped TRUE with a 38mm high static fan vs a NH-U12P with it's NF-P12 is unfair.

Can't wait, Great Idea!! I am building an i7 system at the end of summer and I am torn between the TRUE and The Noctua, I'll probably go with Noctua cause it's quieter but this will probably make my decision easier
