I've searched..and found a bunch of reviews that suck. They test these coolers with 45nm dual cores that are hardly overclocked. That's a horrible review for what a HS is capable of. That's why I'm testing the coolers on a quad that's overclocked a lot, and will be pushing more voltage than needed just to get the heat up there even more. Only the best coolers will shine in this situation. Actually, the Q6600 I have now was cooled by a Xig earlier in it's life, my Noctua gets about 5-6C lower temps with a fan that actually doesn't push as much air as the delta that was on the Xig. Explain that one to me.

Average? No. Simply no. You were beating a dead horse the moment you got involved in the thread, so don't say you won't now. You don't seem to know what lapping does to a cooler performance-wise, so stop pretending you do.

I'd say that both TRUE and NH-U12 are quite equal. Both top notch aircoolers. The Noctua has a smoother base out of the box though.

did you read the conclusion on the review you post? it sums it up pretty good. Pros: High-performance heatsink Low-noise/silent fan included Thermal paste included Includes fan clips for a 2nd fan Cons: Performance trails behind the market competitor Mounting bracket blocks LGA775 socket lever Fan clip wire ends are difficult to move into position http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi..._nh_u12p/5.htm So explaination for why your Noc cools better than your Xig? there are a few (if yours was S1283) 1. you BSing try to promote your Noctua. 2. your Noc is the "special" one that it magically dispense heat better than anything in the market. I guess is 1. keep trying to promote your Noc huh?

HELL TO THE FRICKING YEA!!!
You rock J. I say do it. The methodology must be proper though. First: 1. Unlapped TRUE 2. Unlapped Noctua 3. Unlapped Xig Second: 1. Lapped True 2. Lapped Noctua 3. Lapped Xig Third: 1. Fully Modded TRUE 2. Fully Modded Noctua 3. Fully Modded Xig (not sure it needs a washer mod) It helps that you have a NICE OC on the q6600. I feel like it's the perfect chip to test these on and the 3.8ghz OC should be very indicative of the BEST possible performance you can expect from the coolers.

And yes...
I agree 100%. Almost every review out there uses 45nm dual cores with almost no-overclock to them. The chips tested run cool by definition... and the dual cores don't stress a cooler like a quad does. Poo, I don't know why you're still posting here. You obviously aren't bringing anything to the table. You have nothing to add, nor do you make constructive suggestions. It just seems like you had a terrible day (week, month, year) and are determined to make some faceless poster on the internet aware that YOU DO NOT AGREE!! Rarrrrrr!!! lul. Give it a break. He's offering to do this board a service... one that MANY MANY MANY people will want to see. From one Jason to another... Thanks for the diligence. (yes... my name is Jason)
